Admissions Requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must meet Tesla MR's admissions requirements and be able to participate safely in MRI technologist training, with or without reasonable accommodation. Tesla MR uses these requirements to evaluate whether an applicant is prepared for the Program's academic, clinical, professional, and financial expectations.
Able to Work in the United States
Applicants must:
- Be at least eighteen (18) years old.
- Be authorized to work in the United States.
- Provide requested identity, education, work authorization, prior experience, awarded hours, or clinical readiness documents.
- Have no felony conviction or no-contest plea within the last 5 years.
- Satisfy all other clinical-site background check requirements.
Able to Train as an MRI Technologist
Applicants must be able to:
- Enter and work safely around MRI equipment and strong magnetic fields.
- Lift up to 30 lbs and assist with patient transfers and positioning.
- Stand, walk, bend, push, and move safely in clinical settings.
- Work around patients, needles, IVs, contrast workflows, blood or bodily fluids, and medical equipment.
- Communicate effectively in English with patients, clinical staff, and Tesla MR staff.
- Use hearing, vision, movement, and motor skills to follow safety instructions, use equipment, and navigate clinical settings.
- Complete site onboarding requirements, which may include immunizations, medical records, drug screening, BLS, health insurance, and other site-specific requirements.
Able to Complete the Program
Applicants must be prepared to:
- Complete the admissions process, including assigned homework and interviews.
- Be sufficiently prepared in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Plan for the weekly time commitment required in each phase:
- Phase 1 (typically Months 1-2): at least 5 hours per week.
- Phase 2 (typically Months 3-7): at least 10 hours per week.
- Phase 3 (typically Months 8-18): at least 20 hours per week.
- Complete at least 16 hours per week at a clinical site once Clinicals begin.
- Meet the clinical site's schedule, which may require flexibility in shifts, days, or hours.
- Provide reliable transportation to clinical sites.
- Meet tuition and clinical onboarding obligations without taking on additional work that interferes with Program requirements.
- Maintain reliable access to a computer, webcam, microphone, and stable internet.
Review and Acceptance
Meeting minimum admissions requirements does not guarantee acceptance. Tesla MR uses a selective admissions process and admits candidates who complete assigned steps and meet Tesla MR's admissions standards.
